Our Development Process
CANDIDATE SELECTION
Gather basic well info and data.
- Perform preliminary calculations of well emissions to identify best candidates.
- Is the well leaking or venting?
- Calculate the CH4 concentration of the gas.
CONTACT REGISTRY
DynaVert will engage BCarbon on behalf of the operator.
- Initial engagement to ensure well will align with BCarbon standards.
- Submit pre-plugging application with more extensive emission calculations.
- $3,000 per well fee due to BCarbon.
PLUG AND REMEDIATE
DynaVert has the well plugged by a third party operate and assist on an as needed basis.
- Plug the well per presiding regulatory requirements.
- Reclamate and remediate the surface location.
- Document work and project emissions.
SUBMIT FINAL APPLICATION
DynaVert will submit final application to BCarbon.
- Provide post plugging records and CH4 measurement documentation.
- Final emission calculations including uncertainty and project emissions.
VALIDATION AND CREDITING
BCarbon determines & creates carbon credits.
- Third-party validation and verification report.
- Credits determined from verification and final application and registered on the blockchain.
- 80% of credits are issued.
ONE YEAR FOLLOW UP
Operator or DynaVert tests well for emissions.
- Test well for CH4 emissions.
- Submit results to BCarbon.
- Final 20% of credits are awarded for successful test.
Methane Emissions Calculations Process Flow
Decline Curve Model
Generate Annual Decline Rate (ADR) and Last Production (LPE) for each well.
Identify 36–48-month period of stable production near the end of the life of the well. The model calculates several outputs including the ADR and LPE values.
Leak Rate Model
Use DCM outputs and other well info to calculate gross emission reductions.
Populate the well information sections. The DCM Output and methane concentration will also be needed for the LRM. The model will output the 20- year total well emissions in CO2e.
Project Emissions & Uncertainty
Determine the emissions required to complete the well and site work.
Calculate project emissions required to properly plug the well and reclamate the location. This does include a 5% uncertainty factor.
Net Emissions Reductions
Calculate the well’s total net emissions.
Using the total well emissions, project emissions and uncertainty, calculate the net emission reductions for the well. We repeat this process for every well in the project.
